From Alaska to New Westminster, from the Queen Charlotte Islands to Northern Ontario, Jabez was loved and respected among the people of the forest industries
for his knowledge, professionalism and can do attitude, as well as his bear hugs and great smile. Some say he was a legend.
Wiebe de Haas has posted some photos including
Jabez at Tungsten,
NWT, in 1971.
In loving memory
A MESSAGE FROM WIEBE DE HASS
...I am sorry for your, Khrysty's and my loss. I first met Jabez when we worked together in Tungsten, NWT in 1971. I was introduced to Khrysty shortly there after. When we returned to the Lower Mainland in 1973 we kept in touch for several years, with them 'settling' on Hornby Island.
And then we lost contact. I recently searched for Jabez and discovered a news items reporting his untimely death. This struck me hard...
I have posted some photos of Jabez and myself at Tungsten on a Facebook page called:
'Tungsten NWT residents past and present'
I thank you for your honouring of Jabez, and your other sad losses.
Yours truly,
Wiebe de Haas
